Schneck Medical Center Named One Of Top 100 Rural And Community Hospitals

(SEYMOUR) – Schneck Medical Center was named one of the Top 100 Rural and Community Hospitals in the United States by the Chartis Center for Rural Health and received a five-star rating for overall hospital quality from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Only three other hospitals in southern Indiana were recognized in the Top 100 list. They were King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Major Hospital in Shelbyville and Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
Schneck was the only hospital in the area to receive the five-star rating, which is the highest rating available. The average rating is three stars.
The hospital was judged on patient market share levels, patient perspective and experience, quality of care, patient outcomes, mortality rates, safety, readmission rates, effectiveness, timeliness, efficient use of medical imaging, cost, charges, and financial stability.
