Sarayette “Sue” (Johnston) Niehaus, 72, of Bedford, died Sunday, March 17, 2019.
Born November 19, 1946, in Greensburg, she was the daughter of Robert W. and Charlotte L. (Tinker) Johnston.
She had worked at Proctor & Gamble and then as an office administrator at Hancock Construction, Bliss Place and Stonebridge Health Campus. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 494. She loved to knit,
quilt, garden, and work in her yard. She had served at the State Officer in the Rainbow Girls.
Survivors include a daughter, Stacey Randolph of Bedford; grandchildren, Zachary, Zoe, and Zane Randolph, all of
Bedford; a brother, Roger W. Johnston, and wife, Ruth, of Hampton, VA; several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 25th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Kevin Andry officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Southpark Cemetery in Greensburg. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 24th at the Day & Carter Mortuary where an Eastern Star service will be conducted at 5 p.m.

Brittani Irene (Tow) Pen͂a, 28, of Bedford, died at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at home with her family and friends.
Born November 13, 1990 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Toby Tow and Kristi Kyger. She married Josh Pen͂a on August 28, 2010 and he survives. She was a homemaker. She was the party planner, and always wanted to be with her family and friends. Brittani was the glue that held everyone together, she was vibrant, sassy, determined and full of life.
Survivors include her husband, Josh, of Bedford, two sons, Angelo and Santino Pen͂a, at home; her mother, Kristi Kyger, of Bedford; step-father, Cory Thomas; her father, Toby Tow, of Bedford; step-mother, Teresa Tow, of Bedford; her siblings, Zachary Jones, Tanner Tow, Cherith Smale, Christopher Manuel, Byron Kyger , Jace Manuel, and Madisyn Thomas all of Bedford; nieces and nephews, Ember Dizon-Jones, of VA, Walter Smale, Tucker Tow, Everette Smale, Abel Pen͂a, all of Bedford, Adrian Pen͂a, Johnny Carter, and Isabella Carter, all of Evansville; maternal grandparents, Roger and Irene Kyger of Shoals; paternal grandparents,Dave and Julia Tow, of Bedford; step-grandmother, Kim Child-Thomas, of Bedford; step-grandparents, Lonnie and Barbara Jones, of Bedford; aunt, Amy Mattingly and husband, Don, of Alfordsville; uncles, Charles Andrew Kyger, of Bloomington, Jeff Tow and wife, Joyce, of Ninevah; cousins, Taylor and Morgan Mattingly, of Alfordsville, Codi Mellichamp, of Tampa, FL; father and mother-in-law, Fernando and Lilia Pen͂a, of Bedford; brother-in-law, David Pen͂a, of Bedford; sister-in-law, Melissa Carter, and husband, John, of Evansville, and several great aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Jeff Thayer and Janine Spieth officiating. Burial will follow in Emmons Ridge Cemetery in French Lick. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 22nd and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, March 23 rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Please bring pictures, stories, etc. of Tani to place in a memory basket. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to her son’s education fund.

Frieda Maxine Stroud – Mitchell

Frieda Maxine Stroud, 89, of Mitchell, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Mitchell Manor Nursing Facility.
Born May 10, 1929, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Andrew Belvin and Pluma Bell (Chasteen) Enochs. She married David G. Stroud on March 19, 1949, and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2008.
Maxine was a very loving mother and housewife and a kind-hearted friend to everyone she knew. She also was an employee of Mitchell Community Schools for 29 years as the head baker at the high school cafeteria. She dedicated her whole life to her family and friends. She was a member of Cornerstone Worship Center in Judah.
Survivors include her four sons; Paul D. (Kathy) Stroud of Mitchell, Glen (Patty) Stroud of Bogart, Georgia, Steven (Mickey) Stroud of Williams, Tim Stroud of Mitchell; five grandchildren; Lindsay (Jason) Kidwell, Lance Stroud, Ashlee (Barry) Duncan, Wesley (Sarah) Stroud and Shane Stroud; eight great-grandchildren, Korbin Kidwell, Kora Kidwell, Arionna Duncan, Ethan Duncan, Ali Duncan, Taylor Duncan, Izzy Duncan, Mia Duncan; and one great-great-grandchild Raylin Wright; two sisters, Estelle Fisher of Norman and Mary Flinn of Mitchell; one brother, Frank (Shirley) Enochs, of Bloomington; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years David Stroud; sisters, Bonnie Marie Enochs and Brenda (Marvin) Patton; brothers, Andrew (Phyllis) Enochs, Jr. and Paul Enochs; daughter-in-law Carrol Stroud; brothers-in-law Paul Flinn and Dean Fisher; and great-granddaughter Marti Rose Stroud.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Rodney Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Casketbearers will be Lance Stroud, Korbin Kidwell, Jason Kidwell, Wesley Stroud, Barry Duncan, and Ethan Duncan.
