Bedford Housing Authority Will Seek Grant To Make Improvements

(BEDFORD) – The Bedford Housing Authority met at 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon for a public session.


All members were present. This included Mel Rile, Dewayne Turpin, Myra Shipman, Kay Weldon, Carla Abel, and Diane Tuleslek.
The meeting was called to order and the minutes from the February 21, meeting were approved.
There was no old business to discuss.
Written reports were approved which included Accounting Reports, Occupancy Reports, Section 8/HCV Reports as well as, Maintenance Reports.
The Executive Director gave her report stating she attended the Grant Meeting of the Lawrence County Community Foundation Grant Meeting. The Housing Authority wants to apply for an approximate $5,000 grant from the foundation.
Also, bids will be chosen around March 28 by contractors for a project for the upstairs of the Hauck House.
The policy for ACOP needs updated, officials will start working on the changes. However, it might take a little while before the changes can all be completed.
Resolution 540 to write off bad debt was approved. The fiscal year ends in April.
A second resolution to accept a new workman’s compensation insurance company was also approved. Accident Fund Company was approved to be the new carrier.
The meeting was opened up for public comments to which there was none, and the meeting was adjourned.
An Executive Session immediately followed the public meeting.
