(BLOOMINGTON) – An Indiana State Trooper from the Bloomington district was fired after admitting to having a relationship with a 17-year-old girl.
According to a news release, Senior Trooper Ryan Starnes continued his relationship with the teen from about July to October last year after finding out her age.
The teen’s parents filed a complaint with Indiana State Police.
State police investigated the allegations, were able to substantiate it and dismissed him saying Starne’s actions violated one of the department’s personnel rules.
Starnes has this week to file an appeal.
