Public Information Meetings Scheduled For Development Of 2020-2024 Transportation Improvement Program

(BLOOMINGTON) – The Bloomington-Monroe County Metropolitan Planning Organization (BMCMPO) will hold two public meetings to gain input for the development of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-2024 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

These public information meetings will be held Monday, March 4, 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., and on Tuesday, March 5, from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Monroe County Public Library (303 E. Kirkwood) in Room 1C.
The TIP is a comprehensive list of planned and funded multi-modal transportation projects programmed for INDOT, Monroe County, Rural Transit, Bloomington Transit, and the City of Bloomington. Development of the new TIP requires a public involvement process that includes review by the BMCMPO Citizens Advisory Committee and the Technical Advisory Committee, as well as adoption by the Policy Committee before submission to state and federal agencies.
Those attending the public meetings will provide feedback on the proposed list of TIP projects, thereby shaping the project funding priorities of the BMCMPO for the next five years. The BMCMPO staff looks forward to discussing these and other important transportation issues with community members at the public meetings.
The FY 2020-2024 Transportation Improvement Program is available for downloading at https://bloomington.in.gov/index.php/mpo/transportation-improvement-program, and comments may be submitted to mpo@bloomington.in.gov. BMCMPO staff will share public comments, questions, and concerns with the BMCMPO committees before submission to state and federal agencies.
