George F. Hanners – Mitchell
George F. Hanners,77 of Mitchell, passed away on October 3, 2013 at 3:35 a.m. at Mitchell Manor. He was born in Lawrence County on March 21, 1936 to William & Elizabeth (Doan) Hanners. He married Maxine Tobias on March 7, 1976 and she survives. George had worked many jobs, including at Spring Mill State Park and he was a Bell ringer for the Salvation Army.
Survivors include his wife; Maxine Hanners of Mitchell; sister; Helen Cooper of Mitchell; sister-in-law; Martha Hanners of Orleans; nieces; Michelle Hanners of Orleans and Stormie Hanners of Georgia; nephews; Brian Hanners of Orleans, Tommy Hanners of Georgia and Billy Hanners of Bedford
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Charles and William Hanners; sister; Clara May; niece, Thelma Burton
Cremation was chosen.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 12, 2013 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Bryantsville Church of Christ, on U.S. 50 West Cresthaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Wendell Nikirk 82 of Oolitic passed away Wednesday October 9, 2013 at 11:07 a.m. at his residence.

Henry O. Cook – Bedford
Henry O. Cook, 78, passed away at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at White River Lodge in Bedford.
Born March 20, 1935, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Charlie W. and Oleva Edna (Brown) Cook. He married Bonnie Marie Elliott June 28, 1961.
Henry was a dairy farmer and had also been employed at Jackson-Jennings County Co-op, and lastly at T&G Construction. He graduated from Tunnelton High School in 1953. He was a U. S. Army veteran.
Surviving: wife, Bonnie Cook, Mitchell; daughter, Rebekah “Becky” (Brian) Tolbert, Williams; granddaughter, Whitley Nicole Tolbert; siblings, Rachel (Marvin) Garrison, Orleans, Harry Omer Cook, Bedford, Virginia (Larry) Hill, Shelbyville,
His parents and sister, Ruth Ratliff, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 12, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Ray Jones and Brother Richard Holt officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10:30 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Casketbearers: Tim Banks, David Garrison, Barry Elliott, Noble Jeffries, Phillip Ratliff and Benny Grimes.
