James Francis Clampitt – Bedford
James Francis Clampitt of Bedford passed away Sunday morning, May 2nd at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 87. Born in 1923 in Lawrence County to parents Thornt and Ruth Clampitt, she had been married to Luella Manzenberger since 1946. James was a farmer and had retired from Tool & Die at W.F. Meyers, was a school bus driver in Tunnelton, a graduate of Heltonville High School, was a member of the White River Baptist Church and the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Jane Fansler; three sons, James Clampitt, Jerry Clampitt and Jody Clampitt; as well as several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Clampitt and one sister, Ellen Clampitt. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 6th at 11:00AM at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Gilgal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, May 5th at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home.
Jean Freeman – Bedford
Jean Freeman of Bedford passed away Saturday morning, May 1st at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. Born in 1929 in Lawrence County to Ellsworth and Della George, she had been married to Roy Freeman since 1949. Jean was retired from K-Mart and was a member of the Red Hat Society, Bryantsville Homemakers, Prim Priscilla Club, was a Pink Lady at Dunn Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Bryantsville Church of Christ. She is survived by two sons, Jerry Freeman and his wife Pam, Robert Freeman and his wife Patty; several grandchildren and one brother, Gaylord George. Shee is preceded in death by her husband; one sister, Mima Pender and one brother, Hubert George. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 5th at 10:00AM in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Bryantsville Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday and from 9:00AM until the hour of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Dale Fox – Bedford
Dale Fox of Bedford passed away Saturday morning, May 1st at his residence at the age of 72. Born in 1938 in Mitchell to Ray and Gladys Fox, he married Phyllis Harshaw in 1957 and Lois Ragsdale in 1985. Dale was retired from Mitchell Community Schools and was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church. He was also a graduate of Mitchell High School in the class of 1957 and was a veteran on the Indiana National Gaurd and Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250. He is survived by his wife; children, Debbie Ellis, Amy Hiott and William Ragsdale; several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Margaret Ann Fox and one step-mother, Certrude Fox. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 4th at 10:30AM in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Military honors will be accorded graveside by Cecil C. Martin Americran Legion Post No. 259 and Marvin R. Davis Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Visitation will be from 3:00PM until 8:00PM on Monday and from 9:30AM until the hour of service on Tuesday.
