Olive I. Eager of Mitchell passed away Tuesday morning at Paoli Health and Living Community at the age of 101.
Born in 1907 in Lawrence County to Perry and Emma (York) McCart, Olive was married to Ollie Eager until he preceded her in death in 1991.
She was a homemaker and a member of Spice Valley Baptist Church, the ladies mission circle, was a member of the Spice Valley Demonstration Club, a volunteer for the American Red Cross Auxiliary, and was a member of the Pink Ladies at Dunn Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her daughters, Jaunita and her husband Asa, Wilma and her husband Lloyd, Charlotte Brown; sister, Mary Ruth Dyer; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 27 great great grandchildren.
She I preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters, Norma Rose Tankley and infant son Betty Louise; infant son, Robert; sisters, Louise Eggers, Kathryn Wright, Fern Wicker, Bonnie Allen, Jewell Zimmerman; and brothers, Otha, Chriss, Lowell, and William McCart.
Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Mitchell Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and from 10:00 AM until the service on Saturday at Chastain Funeral Home.
