Gerald New of Bedford passed away Sunday evening at his home at the age of 74.
Born in 1934 in Lawrence County to Escar and Pearl New, Gerald was a member of the American Patriot Lodge in Oolitic and Oolitic United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Sue, sons Mark and Gary, daughter Cheryl, brothers David, Larry and Jerry, nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Ray and Mike.
Services will be held on Wednesday at Day and Carter at 2pm with burial to follow at Hilltop Cemetery.
Visitation is from noon until time of the service on Wednesday.
