Lt. Col. J. Ken Hodges, 73, Bedford

Lt. Col. J. Ken Hodges of Bedford passed away Monday night at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 73.


Born in 1935 in Bedford to Plamer and Rhue Hodges, Ken was a 28 year veteran of the US Army, Bedford police officer, military aviator serving a number of assignments, Lawrence County Director of Community Corrections, probation officer, charter member of the Community Baptist Fellowship Church, life member and past commander of the American Legion and past Chef De Gare 40/8 and past trustee of the Bedford Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his daughter Kenna Jo, son Chris, step-daughter Amy, 4 grandchildren, and one step-granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wives Connie and Sue, son Kay, brothers Gene and Charles, sisters Margaret and Mary, and one granddaughter.
Services will be held Friday morning at 11:00am at the Community Baptist Fellowship Church with burial to follow at a later date at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00pm and again Friday from 10:00am until time of service at the church.
