Intoxicated Officer Drives Into Traffic Cop

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - A Marion County Sheriff’s Department employee is facing drunk driving charges after police say he struck an officer directing traffic outside the Brickyard 400 Sunday.
59-year-old Richard Rawley, a youth services worker who coordinates visits by Mcgruff The Crime Dog, was preliminarily charged with three counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
IMPD Officer Travis Williams broke both legs in four places as a result of the collision.
