3-Year-Old Dies When Thrown From Horse

(PORTAGE) - A 3-year-old boy was killed Monday evening when he was thrown off a horse in Portage.

The Porter County Sheriff's Department says the accident happened when Amier Sanchez of Chicago was riding a horse at the home of Victor Maldonado.

No one is sure what frightened the horse, but it threw the boy and then fell on him.

Sanchez was taken to a hospital in Hobart where he was pronounced dead.
