(SOUTH BEND, IN) - Half of the South Bend Symphonic Choir will perform a 90-minute concert of holiday songs on the state floor of the White House next Monday.

Only 22 members of the 44 person choir will make the trip due to restrictions set by the White House.

Choir Director Marvin Curtis with Indiana University South Bend says Senator Evan Bayh's office helped expedite the application and audition process which began in June.

Curtis got a call confirming the performance last week.

He says the 22 choir members who will be performing were chosen by seniority and are paying for the trip themselves.

Curtis says the South Bend Symphonic Choir is 46 years old and still has one original member.

She is definitely on the list to perform at the White House.

The concert is scheduled for 11:45AM on December 21st.

No word yet on whether the first family will attend.
