16 Taken To Hospital After Bridge Collapse

(MERRILLVILLE) - At least 16 people were taken to area hospitals after a footbridge collapsed late Saturday night following an Independence Day celebration at Hidden Lake Park in Merrillville.
According to the Times of Northwest Indiana, the total number of injured was unknown.
There were no fatalities in the accident.
Witnesses said the collapse took place about 10:00 PM, at the end of the Fourth of July fireworks display.
