(NASHVILLE) - The Brown County Coroner says Dr. Gus Watanabe, the chairman of Indianapolis-based Biocrossroads, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday.

The Indianapolis Star reports Watanabe's body, along with a handgun and three-page note, were found by friends at a vacation cabin east of Nashville.

A police report said the 67 year-old Carmel resident had been depressed following the death of his 44 year-old daughter who died last month following surgery.
