(UNDATED) - Summer is the peak season for one of America’s deadliest weather phenomena, lightning.
Lightning is the number two severe weather related killer.
There have been 15 fatalities in the u-s to date in 2009.
A fatal lightning strike was reported in Indianapolis earlier this month when a ten-year-old boy was struck at a campground.
This week is the 9th annual lightning safety awareness week nationwide.
