Indiana Teachers, Higher Union Dues?
Last updated on Wednesday, June 10, 2009
(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana teachers could face higher union dues so their colleagues on disability continue to receive benefits.
The Indiana State Teachers Association is promising to make good on its commitment to pay disability checks, a week after a memo to teachers announced the troubled long-term disability trust fund would be terminated in august.
Interim executive director Edward Sullivan now says only the fund is going away -- the union will find a way to pay those already receiving benefits.
