Cummins Filing A Lawsuit Against Its Insurers

(COLUMBUS) - Cummins is filing a federal lawsuit against its insurers.
The litigation involves the Columbus, Indiana-based engine maker's claims of up to $381 million in damages at some of its Indiana facilities from record flooding last June.
That flooding damaged Cummins' engine plant and research center in Columbus.
The lawsuit filed in Indianapolis claims insurers have covered 64.5 million, but plan to only cover 26.5 more because some of the buildings are in a 100-year flood plain.
Cummins spokesman Mark Land says the company is open to further negotiations with the insurers.
Cummins has itemized $180.7 million in direct flood expenses, along with business interruption losses of up to $200 million.
