Former Street Superintendent Accused Of Mail Fraud
(MORGANTOWN) - The former street superintendent of Morgantown is accused of diverting 40-thousand dollars of town money to his private business.
33-year-old Paul Ford was charged Tuesday with mail fraud following an investigation by the FBI and Indiana State Police.
US Attorney Tim Morrison says Ford caused the town to pay for rental equipment he used to operate his personal excavation company.
The rental fees totaled more than 40-thousand dollars.
Authorities say none of the equipment was ever used to perform town business.
If convicted, Ford faces up to 20 years in prison and a 250-thousand dollar fine.
He's expected to make his first federal court appearance in Indianapolis within the next two weeks.
