Avon Police Have Found Possible Murder Suspect
(AVON) - Avon Police say they have a “possible suspect” in the killing of michael Galinas.
The victim, who's believed to have been about 50 years old, was found dead in the driveway of the home where he lived with his elderly mother.
The mother's caretaker told police there was an argument last Friday between Galinas and her husband, John Cooper.
As she was talking to officers, the caretaker got a cell phone call from Cooper.
Unaware that his wife was talking to police, he indicated he was in the Knightstown area.
Henry County authorities were notified and Cooper was located.
He attempted to flee, but didn't get far before rolling his car.
He's in a hospital now in stable condition, awaiting interrogation.
Avon Police Chief Jack Miller says one resident reported hearing a gunshot before another neighbor spotted the body.
It was first thought to be a suicide but investigators began to suspect a possible homicide when they were unable to find a weapon at the scene.
