(ELKHART) - A Northern Indiana doctor has been arrested on federal charges that he tried to hire a business associate to kill his estranged wife and two other people.

FBI Special Agent Wendy Osborne says 49-year-old Dr. Lesley Scholl offered a business associate $200,000 dollars each for the murders of his estranged wife, the wife's attorney and another doctor with whom he had a dispute. The business associate was wearing a recording device.

Scholl also faces charges of illegally transferring a gun silencer.

Scholl lives in Roanoke and has an office in Elkhart.
