(INDIANAPOLIS) - In another instance of, “If you’re driving a stolen car with drugs in it, obeying traffic laws is to your advantage,” state police in Indianapolis attempted to stop a vehicle last night for a traffic violation since it didn’t have headlights on and, when their lights came on, the vehicle took off.

The truck would later be found abandoned and, when officers checked it to see if there was anyone inside, what they did find was more than $1 million worth of marijuana.

Officers say there was more than 1,100 pounds of pot between the cab and the bed of the truck, and that it had been reported stolen shortly before.

IMPD and State Police are continuing to investigate and the owners of the vehicle are considered persons of interest at this point.
