Police Lieutenant Suspended After Breaking City Code
(ELWOOD) - Elwood Police Lieutenant Sherry Wright was put on unpaid suspension Saturday after an investigation into the department’s handling of events the day Robert Lamberson was released.
On March 1, Lamberson was released about five hours after he was arrested on suspicion of invasion of privacy, violating a restraining order taken out by his wife 26-year-old Kristina Lamberson. Kristina was found dead the next day.
According to Elwood city code, suspects in such cases should be held without bond for a 24-hour period.
Wright will be on suspension until April 28 when she will return as a patrol officer.
