Floyd County Deputy Returning For Duty After Sniping Incident
(NEW ALBANY) - A Floyd County Sheriff’s deputy wounded last year by a teenage sniper is preparing to return to duty.
Deputy Joel White will become an evidence technician who investigates crime scenes. The shooting last year destroyed the 28-year-old officer's left hip, and he still walks with a limp.
A 15-year-old boy injured White and fatally wounded Deputy Frank Denzinger with a rifle after the deputies went to his parents' Southern Indiana home to investigate an argument between the teen and his mother.
