Details Emerging In Indy Mass Murder Trial
(INDIANAPOLIS) - The trial for two men accused in Indy’s biggest mass murder in nearly 30 years won’t be held till next year, but that doesn’t’ mean there aren’t developments.
Judge Robert Altice heard several motions yesterday dealing with Desmond Turner and James Stewart.
The judge ruled the jury will be sequestered during the trial and they will also be allowed to make two trips to where the killings occurred.
Motions to move the trial, to give them separate trials, to suppress evidence like crime scene and autopsy photos and to allow a separate defense firearms expert will be heard in the next two months.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against Turner.
The trial is scheduled for February 2009.
