Dillinger Muesuem Set To Open Following Lawsuit
(HAMMOND) - It may signal the end of a bitter court battle in Hammond. The doors of the John Dillinger Museum opened Friday after an agreement was reached between county tourism officials and Dillingers great-nephew, Jeffery Scalf.
Back in 2001, Scalf filed suit to prevent the museum from displaying Dillinger artifacts. The out-of-court agreement was reached two days after filming of "Public Enemies" in Crown Point. That's a movie about Dillinger, starring actor Johnny Depp.
The museum is located inside the Indiana welcome center on corner of Kennedy avenue and I-94 in Hammond.
