(INDIANAPOLIS) - The U.S. Army has teamed up with AAR Aircraft Services to offer jobs to young veterans.

AAR wants to hire several hundred mechanics and other support staff at the Indianapolis international airport facilities.

AAR President Mickey Cohen says vets who apply are guaranteed a job interview. Cohen says they are scrambling to fill spots and there is a backlog of airplanes that need repairs. Cohen says the company also is looking for those who may've been displaced by auto industry layoffs.

Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard says Indianapolis has always been a veteran-friendly community and this partnership continues to build on that.
