Flooding Strikes North-Central Indiana, Again
(DELPHI) - Another round of flooding for parts of North-Central Indiana.
Evacuations started early Tuesday morning in White and Carroll counties, north of Lafayette. Dave McDowell heads up emergency management for Carroll County and says FEMA is setting up shop in Delphi. McDowell says FEMA was originally on-site for the early January flooding.
McDowell says they don't anticipate doing a lot of water rescue because many people still haven't returned home from last month's floods. To make matters worse, residents who have been able to come home don't have gas and battled the frigid temperatures that hit the region in the last two weeks.
McDowell himself is also effected - his home sits on the Tippecanoe River. McDowell says his family had begun the clean-up effort, only to watch their home take on several feet of new water early Tuesday.
