Daniels Returns From Nation's Capital, Called For Jury Duty
(INDIANAPOLIS) - Governor Mitch Daniels returned to Indiana Monday evening after attending the national Governor’s Association winter meeting in Washington, D.C.
Daniels attended a Sunday evening dinner with President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush.
On Monday morning, the governor participated in the governor's only meeting with the president at the White House.
On Monday afternoon, Daniels spoke about policy innovations such as the Healthy Indiana Plan, Major Moves, telecom reform and the state's progress in economic development. The governor's speech was at the American Enterprise Institute For Public Policy Research, a not-for-profit institution that studies government, politics, economics and social welfare.
Upon his return to Indiana, Daniels learned that he's been called for jury duty in Marion county.
The governor reports Tuesday morning and says he's glad to do it, adding it's happened before but not since he's been in office.
