(UNDATED) - Indiana’s prisons are replacing playing cards sold to inmates with decks featuring unsolved murders, hoping inmates can help solve some of the cases.

The Indiana Department of Correction hopes the "cold case homicide playing cards" may jar inmates' memories and give investigators a break if they pass on tips.

Each card in the deck features an unsolved murder and a photo of the victim. The decks include four cards on one of Indiana's most prominent unsolved slayings... the November 1978 killings of four young burger chef employees in Indianapolis.

Doc Commissioner J. David Donahue got the idea for the cards from the Florida Department of Corrections, which printed similar decks with at least one successful result.
