1.5-Mile Stretch Of I-65 To Close This March
Last updated on Tuesday, February 05, 2008
(GARY) - Construction will close a 1.5-mile section of Interstate 65 in Northwest Indiana for about nine months starting March 1st.
The stretch of roadway connects I-80/94 to the Indiana toll road. The Indiana Department of Transportation says the project will include the reconstruction of I-65 where it crosses I-80/94.
Spokesman Joshua Bingham says that by closing the roadway, construction will be completed in half the time.
The $46 million project is being paid for through the state's Major Moves Fund.
