(UNDATED) - The Indiana State Police are celebrating their 75th anniversary as a law enforcement agency this year and, as a result, are issuing commemorative equipment to some officers.

The state police's Major Carlos Pettiford says the superintendent and all public information officers will be issued cruisers reminiscent of the patrol's original 1933 Chevrolets, including a bright INDOT yellow stripe.

Additionally, all troopers will be issued new commemorative badges featuring both the US and Indiana state flags bordering the usual state police shield.

However, there's no word on whether or not wishing a trooper a "happy anniversary" will get you out of that traffic ticket they pulled you over for.
