(FORT WAYNE) - A Mishawaka paramedic has filed a sex-discrimination suit against the city.

Dale Francis is the only woman with the Mishawaka fire department, either as an EMT or a firefighter.

She accuses firefighters of jeopardizing her life and those of patients by refusing to speak to her on emergency runs or help her lift patients and equipment. She also contends firefighters have made sexually derogatory comments and posted sexually offensive cartoons in fire stations.

Francis says when she complained, the city's only action was to stop rotating her into the fire station where she says the hostility was worst.
