Hostage Situation Ends Peacefully

(GARY) - Gary Police resolved a hostage situation peacefully on Sunday.
A 27-year-old man was holding a woman and a toddler hostage inside an apartment.
Police called in the swat team. Hostage negotiators communicated with the man via cell phone. A detective later helped coax the man out of the building to surrender.
The woman suffered unspecified injuries and was being treated. Her son was unhurt.
