Hitchhiker Killed By Snowplow
Last updated on Saturday, December 22, 2007
(LAPORTE) - A hitchhiker was killed early Friday when he was hit by a Indiana Department of Transportation snowplow. It happened about 40 miles from Blue Chip Casino in LaPorte County.
The victim, 64-year-old Milan Radakovich, of Knox, often made the journey back and forth to the casino.
The snowplow driver told police he tried swerving to avoid Radakovich, but his plow hit him while his back was turned.
Friday's morning rain and fog may have played a factor in the accident.
