Congresswoman Carson Remembered
(INDIANAPOLIS) - A solemn farewell for Congresswoman Julia Carson on Friday.
Carson's body was taken by horse-drawn carriage from her home on the near north side to the state house. Governor Mitch Daniels and Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman were there for her arrival.
Carson was accompanied by her family and a small crowd followed the horse-drawn carriage to the capitol. Carson was taken into the north atrium and a small memorial service was held.
Governor Mitch Daniels called Carson "a friend of the people" and said it will very hard to fill her shoes.
