Woman Aiming To Shoot Dog, Not Neighbor

(WADESVILLE) - The Wadesville woman who killed her neighbor’s granddaughter was aiming at that neighbor’s dog.
That's according to Posey County Prosecutor Jodi Uebelhack. Uebelhack said the bullet used in the shooting ricocheted off the ground, bounced up and traveled underneath a fence before hitting Nicole Stroud.
The 29-year-old died Thanksgiving morning at Deaconess Hospital. The bullet had pierced her lungs and heart.
The suspect, 41-year-old Melinda Lindauer faces preliminary charges of involuntary manslaughter and reckless homicide.
Though it's likely, Lindauer didn't purposely shoot at Stroud, the prosecutor says criminal charges are still warranted.
