(INDIANAPOLIS) - One of the men accused in the worst massacre in Indianapolis’ history is on trial today for a separate incident.

Desmond Turner is accused of assaulting several of the guards at the Marion County Jail last year, including spitting on one of them.

The prosecutor's office says jury selection could take awhile, as attorneys try to find people who haven't heard of Turner. He and James Stewart are the two men accused of the Hamilton Avenue murders.

Seven members of one family were gunned down in their home in what appeared to be a botched robbery.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against turner in that case.
