(PLAINFIELD) - State police are investigating the Thanksgiving day theft of semi-trailers containing insulin near Plainfield.

The stainless steel trailers were stolen on November 21st and 23rd from Daum Trucking.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Richard Myers says the 21 skids of insulin can spoil if not properly refrigerated, posing major health risks for unsuspecting users. Injection of spoiled insulin can be fatal.

The refrigerated trailers are unmarked with red wheel hubs and axles. You are asked to call police if you spot the trucks -- or are asked to buy insulin from a suspicious source.
