(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis Zoo officials say an investigation has determined the likely cause of a fire on November 10 that left a number of animals dead.
The insurance carrier's independent fire investigator believes a combustible material was ignited when it came too close to a heat lamp.
It's suspected that an armadillo that occupied the pen below pushed enrichment material or bedding into a pile below the lamp, close enough that ignition occurred.
