(UNDATED) - Indiana Christmas trees are headed to sailors in Bahrain.

The Indiana Christmas Tree Growers Association is packing up more than 200 of the freshest-cut holiday trees and shipping them to sailors with units in the 5th fleet and the U.S. Coast Guard. FedEx is delivering the trees for free.

The shipment is part of the National Trees For Troops Program- which expects to send more than 11,000 trees to men and women in the military this year.

Last year, Hoosier trees went to soldiers at Fort Drum in New York and to sailors on board the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower.
