Cesium-137 Found Near Airport
Last updated on Monday, November 26, 2007
(INDIANAPOLIS) - Hazardous materials crews say the radioactive cesium-137 found inside a truck trailer at warehouse near Indianapolis International Airport - does not pose a health risk.
Firefighters and hazmat workers were sent the area when a radiation detector went off. Apparently, the material had been stored too closely - and that sparked the alert.
Cesium-137 is usually used in industrial gauges and cancer treatments.
