Man Dies Attempting To Break Into Ex-Wife's Home

(LAFAYETTE) - Police say man who attempted to enter his ex-wife’s Lafayette home through a basement window got stuck and suffocated.
John Matthys' body was found Sunday evening by a neighbor who was watching the house for Matthys' ex-wife. Matthys' ex-wife was not home at the time.
Investigators believe the 56-year-old man became stuck while trying to enter the house feet first through a basement window. His body may have been stuck in the window for up to a day before it was discovered.
