INDOT Holds Meeting For Interstate Expansion
(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Dept. of Transportation held a public information meeting Wednesday night on the added travel lanes project at I-465 and I-69 on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
Specifically, the project proposes the complete replacement of the existing pavement plus added travel lanes. The existing interchange would be reconstructed to a directional and semi-directional ramp configuration with two loops.
A large crowd turned out to hear INDOT's presentation and ask questions about the project, which will cover approximately 8 miles along 465 , from just east of the U.S. 31 interchange and ending at the north end of the bridge over fall creek road.
On I-69, the project runs from 75th Street to just south of the 96th St. Interchange.
INDOT Spokesman Will Wingfield says the project is currently in the design phase and is scheduled to begin construction in 2012 with a completion date of 2018.
