Duke Energy Proposes Increasing Efficiency Programs
(PLAINFIELD) - Duke Energy filed a request Friday with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission to increase energy savings it gets from its efficiency programs for Indiana consumers.
Duke Energy Indiana president Jim Stanley says increasing efficiency will help meet growing customer power demands as opposed to building new plants.
The company is proposing increasing voluntary program outreach with setups like "Smart $averĀ®," which provides incentives to customers who utilize more efficient air conditioning units and light fixtures such as compact fluorescent bulbs, which use around 1/9 the power of regular incandescent bulbs.
