(WEST LAFAYETTE) - President George W. Bush has named a Purdue University agricultural alumnus as acting head of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Chuck Conner succeeds Mike Johanns, who resigned to run for the senate.
The Otterbein, Indiana native is a 1980 Purdue graduate of the Department of Agricultural Economics.
