Group Releases DVD To Help Prevent Dogfighting

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A group of Indianapolis residents who are advocates for pit bulls and other bully breeds has produced an interactive DVD to help communities around the state fight dogfighting.
Laurie Adams of the Indy Pitt Crew says the DVD gives the history of dogfighting and it's prevalence in the U.S. Today, information on the signs that dog fighting may be going on at a home or property, and gives suggestions for communities that want to begin programs to stop dogfighting.
Adams says many people are surprised to learn that dog fighting is not uncommon in Indianapolis or elsewhere around the state. That's because it's a clandestine activity that's below the radar of most people.
She says in that regard, the Michael Vick case is important because it has brought dogfighting into American living rooms.
