DNR Determines Cause Of Southern Indiana Deer

(UNDATED) - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says the cause of death for deer located in 14 Southern Indiana counties is attributed to a viral disease, EHD.
This disease is transmitted by biting insects, called midges. It's not transmitted to humans and not normally found in domestic animals.
While EHD poses no danger to humans, hunters should take normal precautions, handling all deer.
