(INDIANAPOLIS) - Police have arrested an Indianapolis man for murder after finding a dead body in a trash pile behind his house.

Indy Metro Police say James Riddle's relatives had confronted 51-year-old Lee Hatcher over Riddle's disappearance, and both sides ended up calling police.

When officers spotted a body wrapped in a tarp behind Hatcher's house, they asked Hatcher for permission to conduct a full search.

When Hatcher turned them down, they checked the computers, found a warrant for disorderly conduct, and arrested him... then got a search warrant and found Hatcher had some of riddle's belongings.

A check of the trash pile confirmed the body was Riddle.

Authorities haven't determined how Riddle died.
