(UNDATED) - A Federal Railroad Administration study shows Indiana is at an all-time low for car-train accidents.

However, the state still ranks in the top five nationwide. According to the data, there were 136 accidents last year, including 13 fatalities. In 2005, the state had 175 accidents, with 21 fatalities.

Illinois, Texas, Louisiana and California had more crashes. Experts say one reason for the high numbers in Indiana is the high number of railroad crossings throughout the state.
